Megaport has announced a cloud connectivity collaboration with Oracle. Through this initiative, Megaport and Oracle aim to provide enterprises with an approach for creating dedicated and private connectivity to Oracle Cloud services that can scale with changing business needs.
Enterprise customers continually look for more choices when it comes to designing networks that can flexibly and quickly address ever-changing workload requirements. Taking advantage of Megaport's global network and API integration with Oracle Network Cloud Service - FastConnect, customers can establish connectivity between their on premise data center and Oracle cloud environments with higher bandwidth options and a more reliable and consistent networking experience when compared with internet-based connections, the companies say.
Increasingly, customers need seamless connectivity from their data centers and networks to Oracle Cloud for their most demanding workloads and applications, noted Thomas Kurian, president of Product Development, Oracle. This relationship will help customers leveraging the Oracle Cloud to execute on their business strategies by taking advantage of the Megaport platform for their high bandwidth connectivity need, he added.
Oracle customers can obtain access to the Megaport global network through the Megaport portal in more than 20 major markets in Asia Pacific, North America and Europe. They can self-provision FastConnect via Megaport's web-based portal/ API to the supported Oracle regions.
Initial integration will be available at Ashburn and Phoenix with additional locations to be added in the near future.
