MetricStream Unveils Big Data Analytics Capability for Greater Risk Intelligence

MetricStream, a provider of governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) and quality management solutions, has announced a new big data analytics capability that provides greater visibility and transparency into organizations’ risk profile. This capability will allow customers to more effectively manage the ever-increasing volume, velocity, and variety of data and help them overcome their risk management and regulatory compliance challenges.

Big data analytics allows organizations to collect and analyze large and disparate data points and identify trends, thereby enabling reactive discovery of incidents and proactive identification of emerging issues. “Contextualizing around the risk dimensions that people care about across different pockets in an enterprise is what is really key,” Vidya Phalke, MetricStream’s CTO, tells 5 Minute Briefing. The big data analytics capabilities of MetricStream GRC Platform enables customers to sift through massive volumes of structured and unstructured data and incorporate this into their risk assessment, analysis, mitigation, and reporting process.

The MetricStream GRC platform supports both Hadoop, the open source Java-based framework, and MongoDB, the open source NoSQL database system. It’s a platform approach so that different constituents within an enterprise can leverage that information and use it for not only understanding day-to-day risk but also the long-term ones. And most importantly, it should all flow back as a closed loop within a GRC architecture,” Phalke explains.

The Big Data analytics capability for MetricStream will be available at the end of Q1. Visit www.metricstream.com to learn more.
