MinIO Debuts Robust Enterprise Object Store for Large Data Infrastructure Management

MinIO, the leader in high-performance object storage for AI, is launching the MinIO Enterprise Object Store, the company’s latest product engineered to empower the creation and management of exabyte-scale data infrastructure for commercial customers. Optimized for performance and scale challenges associated with AI workloads, the MinIO Enterprise Object Store offers six key features: the MinIO Enterprise Catalog, Data Firewall, Key Management Server, Cache, Observability, and Enterprise Console.

"The data infrastructure demands for AI are requiring enterprises to architect their systems for 10s of exabytes while delivering consistently high-performance and operational simplicity," said AB Perisamy, co-founder and CEO at MinIO. "The MinIO Enterprise Object Store adds significant value for our commercial customers and enables them to more easily address the challenges associated with billions of objects, hundreds of thousands of cryptographic operations per object per second, or querying an exabyte scale namespace. The defining feature of AI workloads is extraordinary scale and delivering performance at that scale is beyond the capability of most existing applications."

The MinIO Enterprise Catalog allows operators to index, organize, and search high quantities of objects with a GraphQL interface. By solving the issues of object storage namespaces and metadata search, this catalog allows users to know exactly what’s going on with their data in real time.

The Data Firewall is purpose-built for data, being aware of AWS S3 traffic and SFTP traffic—unlike traditional IP-based or application-oriented firewalls, according to MinIO. The Data Firewall, which protects the data layer at billions of objects, offers bucket and object-level rule creation, as well as TLS termination, load balancing, access control, and QOS capabilities.

The MinIO Enterprise Key Management Server (KMS) targets the obstacles associated with the specific performance, availability, fault-tolerance, and security challenges of storing billions of cryptographic keys and operations. Highly available, operationally simple, and supporting multi-tenancy, the KMS is entirely optimized for massive data infrastructures.

Purpose-built for MinIO object storage, the MinIO Enterprise Cache capability is a caching service that utilizes DRAM memory to produce a distributed, shared cache for high performance AI workloads. The cache is designed to work seamlessly once it's enabled—without needing anything from the application.

The Enterprise Observability Suite delivers a holistic, data infrastructure-centered collection of metrics, audit logs, error logs, and traces for accelerated issue identification and root cause analysis. This creates widespread visibility across all system components—including the OS, CPU, memory, drives, and network—across every instance, cluster, and erasure code set.

Finally, the Enterprise Console acts as a unified center for understanding all of an enterprise’s instances of MinIO, including public clouds, private clouds, edge and colocation instances, and launch points for the suite. By offering a single pane of glass from which enterprises can manage diverse storage infrastructures, the Enterprise Console works to centralize and simplify large-scale data infrastructure management.
