Today, Information Today, Inc. released the "AI-Readiness in Enterprise Data Architecture" survey. Fielded by Radiant Advisors and Unisphere Research with sponsorship from Quest Software, it drew 259 qualified respondents from Database Trends and Applications magazine readership. Of these, 176 have funded or are actively planning to fund AI initiatives in 2026, and that funded base anchors the analytical findings throughout this report.

Nearly two-thirds of funded respondents are committing at least $100,000 to AI in 2026, yet only 31% say more than half of their recent initiatives achieved their intended outcomes. Stronger results depend on a three-part “readiness stack”: the data foundation, operating architecture, and governance discipline. Other notable findings include the importance of semantic readiness, operational governance, and formal methods for assessing whether data is ready for AI.
