NuoDB, which provides a scale-out SQL database for cloud- and container-based environments, has announced a new release which provides customers with flexible hybrid cloud deployment options.
The goal with NuoDB 3.0, the company says, is to simplify the cloud on-ramp and ensure alignment between an organization’s database strategy and its evolving product strategy.
With the new release, NuoDB is extending its technology ecosystem integration, which currently includes support for Amazon Web Services and Docker containers, by adding support for Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and Red Hat environments. In addition, NuoDB 3.0 can now operate in an active-active-active deployment across three availability zones, helping organizations to operate in hybrid or multi-cloud environments. The latest release also includes improvements designed to optimize performance, including across multi-data-center environments.
Available and in production since 2013, NuoDB supports business-critical applications, and is designed to deliver the scale-out simplicity, elasticity, and continuous availability that cloud applications require with the transactional consistency and durability that databases of record demand, the company says. This latest release further extends its capabilities by enabling customers to deploy NuoDB directly on premises, and in hybrid or public cloud environments.
