Precisely MCP Server for Precisely Automate Connects AI Assistants to SAP Automation

Precisely, a leader in unified data management for AI-ready data, is introducing the Precisely Automate MCP Server and native OData support in Precisely Automate—enabling AI assistants and applications to interact with SAP automation workflows through a standards-based interface, while supporting SAP Clean Core requirements.

"Organizations shouldn't have to choose between accelerating AI adoption today and preparing for tomorrow's SAP architecture," said Ashwin Ramachandran, SVP, product management at Precisely. "The Precisely Automate MCP Server connects AI assistants to SAP workflows through an open standard, while native OData support helps organizations align automation with SAP's Clean Core strategy. Together, they help customers put AI-ready data into action across SAP environments."

OData is SAP's preferred API standard for connecting applications and exchanging data, allowing AI applications and agents to interact with SAP through modern, standards-based integrations rather than legacy approaches that can complicate upgrades and migrations, SAP said.

OData support helps organizations:

  • Align with the SAP Clean Core strategy by using SAP’s preferred integration approach for new AI-enabled automation.
  • Reduce migration risk with automation designed for SAP S/4HANA Cloud and RISE with SAP.
  • Improve governance and auditability through traceable, API-driven automation.
  • Protect existing investments by continuing to support current Automate Studio scripts while providing a modern foundation for future automation development.

The Precisely Automate MCP Server, built on the open Model Context Protocol (MCP), exposes existing Automate Studio scripts and Evolve workflows as AI-callable tools—giving any MCP-compatible AI platform a standards-based connection to SAP automation.

One configuration works across Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, and other AI platforms that adopt the protocol, without rebuilding integrations as the AI landscape evolves.

Business users can create, update, or retrieve SAP information using natural language through MCP-compatible AI assistants, while governance controls remain intact, said the vendors. Organizations can extend SAP workflows to AI while retaining their existing security, compliance, and governance controls.

Together, native OData support and the Automate MCP Server give organizations a standards-based path to connect MCP-compatible AI assistants, applications, and platforms to SAP automation, compounding the value of existing Automate investments as the AI landscape continues to evolve.

The Automate MCP Server extends Precisely's broader investment in MCP support across its portfolio, helping customers connect trusted data, automation, and customer engagement workflows to AI through open standards, according to the company.
