Progress Announces New ADO.NET Entity Framework 4.0 Providers

Progress Software Corporation has announced the release of DataDirect Connect for ADO.NET 3.5, extending support for Microsoft Entity Framework 4.0 to its Sybase, Oracle, and DB2 providers. With this release, Progress extends the high performance and easy-to-deploy benefits of its managed code architecture ADO.NET providers to Entity Framework 4.0-compatible applications.

Key Features and Functionality of the new release include support for versions 4.0 and 1.0 of the ADO.NET Entity Framework to Sybase, Oracle, and DB2 on iSeries; Seamless support for WC/F, RIA and Silverlight EF deployments; EDM model generation and runtime performance to all Entity Framework applications;Optimized connection pooling for increased performance and resource efficiency;Support for Visual Studio 2010, the .NET 4.0 runtime, and version 5.0 of the Enterprise Library, including pluggable support for the Data Access Application Block (DAAB) Logging Application Block (LAB).
