Protegrity Database Protector Achieves Oracle Exadata Optimized Status

Enterprise data security provider Protegrity has announced that it has earned Oracle Exadata Optimized status through the Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN), demonstrating that Protegrity Database Protector for Oracle Exadata is recognized as having been tested and tuned on Oracle Exadata Database Machine to deliver speed, scalability and reliability to customers.

The Oracle Exadata Database Machine is a complete package of servers, storage, networking, and software that delivers extreme performance and provides a database platform for OLTP applications, data warehouses as well as the varied and unpredictable workloads of cloud computing.

During Oracle lab testing, Protegrity Database Protector for Oracle Exadata achieved a seven-fold performance gain, and fifteen-fold increase in data warehouse queries executed and concurrent user connections over single high-end Linux servers and baseline UNIX servers running AIX or Oracle Solaris -- all while securing data using encryption and tokenization.

Protegrity's patented Database Protector can perform column level data protection and help to transparently provide an additional layer of security to applications that use the database being protected.

Protegrity's Database Protector for Oracle Exadata supports Oracle Database and Oracle Exadata Database Machine to help organizations with data security. Protegrity's Data Security Platform offers a collaborative set of data protection solutions that can be combined in complex, heterogeneous environments to protect sensitive data from the point of creation to the point of archive or purging.

"The Protegrity Database Protector for Oracle Exadata is a strong solution for our mutual customers," said Protegrity CEO Suni Munshani. "Not only does our platform help improve ROI by offering increased performance when executing heavy workloads, but it also may reduce total cost of ownership by allowing more simultaneous user connections and concurrency via the application tier, which results in greater database utilization."

"Oracle Exastack Optimized recognizes partners who have optimized their solutions on a complete, integrated and cloud-ready infrastructure in order to help them accelerate innovation, unlock new features and functionality, and deliver superior value to users," said David Hicks, Vice President, Worldwide ISV, OEM and Java Business Development, Oracle. "By achieving Oracle Exadata Optimized status, Protegrity has demonstrated its Protegrity Database Protector for Oracle Exadata is tested and tuned to work with Oracle Exadata Database Machine to help deliver optimum performance, scalability, and reliability to their customers."
