Qlik now has Semantic Models, which is a new capability for defining, governing, and reusing business definitions within data products. This assists teams in the reduction of duplicated modeling and provides analytics and AI with a consistent basis for interpreting enterprise data.
Semantic Models allow teams to “make the intended definitions and relationships explicit and reuseable,” per a press release. Adding reusable business logic to Qlik’s current data-product capabilities, Semantic Models let teams oversee the meaning of their data in tandem with information about its source and viability for use.
With this, teams now possess a shared business language, and they can build on already established business logic. Additionally, they can offer trusted business context to AI agents, with Qlik expanding semantic model support to Qlik Answers and MCP tools. Advance interoperability throughout the data ecosystem will assist organizations in making semantic definitions more useful throughout technologies and workflows.
