Redgate Data Modeler Reflects Redgate’s Commitment to Delivering Unified, Multi-Database Development

Redgate Software, the end-to-end Database DevOps solution provider, is launching Redgate Data Modeler, a new SaaS-based data modeling tool that enables teams to collaboratively design, document, and manage complex data estates in the cloud.

The launch follows Redgate’s acquisition of Vertabelo Data Modeler, a trusted tool used by thousands of data professionals worldwide, according to the company.

Now branded Redgate Data Modeler, the tool reflects “Redgate’s commitment to delivering a unified, multi-database development experience and marks an important milestone in its strategic roadmap.”

“We’ve been aware of Vertabelo’s presence in the database space for some time, and it quickly became clear that the company’s offerings were a natural fit with Redgate,” said Jakub Lamik, CEO at Redgate. “Vertabelo brings a SaaS-native, platform-agnostic modeling solution that complements our existing strengths and extends our reach beyond SQL Server. This acquisition strengthens our ability to support every stage of the database development lifecycle—from design through to deployment—and accelerates our portfolio offerings towards increased productivity and automated database development.  With Redgate Data Modeler, customers gain a powerful, collaborative tool that reduces complexity, increases reliability, and helps teams deliver value faster.”

Redgate Data Modeler helps teams overcome the complexity of working across multiple database platforms by supporting 10 database types, including SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.

With its intuitive interface, real-time collaboration, and cloud-native architecture, it enables teams to visualize, document, and evolve database structures without needing to write SQL, Redgate said.

The acquisition of Vertabelo Data Modeler closed on 17 September 2025, forming part of Redgate’s long-term strategy to expand its product portfolio and invest in solutions that reflect how data professionals work today.

Vertabelo remains a standalone business following the tool’s acquisition by Redgate and will continue to focus on its educational mission—helping people learn SQL and Python through hands-on courses available at LearnSQL.com and LearnPython.com
