Rocket Makes U2 DBTools Enhancements and Fixes Available as Eclipse Online Updates; and Plans SB/XA v6.2 Webinar for Oct. 25

Since April 2012, Rocket Software’s U2 team has published monthly updates for the Eclipse-based U2 DBTools to an online update site.  Now, enhancements and fixes for all of the U2 DBTools products, such as U2 BASIC Developer Toolkit, U2 Extensible Administration Tool, and U2 Metadata Manager, can be installed directly through the Eclipse “Install New Software” facility.

According to Rocket U2, updates installed through Eclipse do not require a separate InstallShield installation and are applied immediately to theU2 DBTools Eclipse environment, providing an unobtrusive way to keep U2 software current.  Each monthly update consists of the fixes and enhancements requested most by U2 customers, and customers can make requests regarding their issues to Support representatives to make they are planned for one of the monthly updates.

Rocket is also planning a webinar to provide more information about the upcoming release of SystemBuilder Extensible Architecture (SB/XA) 6.2 – including the premiere of the SB/XA Designer, additional default styles, BI Integration, and improved navigation.

Presented by Stuart Mackenzie, senior technical support engineer, the webinar will cover how the new XAML designer can be leveraged - and how it fits in with existing character and GUI forms, how to integrate and leverage Rocket Business Intelligence offerings in SB/XA applications and showcase new default styling options that are more intuitive and leverage SB server expressions. The webinar will also show how easy it is to implement new navigation methods and "favorites" menus.
