Rocket Software to Host MVIS Virtual Workshops

Rocket, in partnership with Pick Cloud, is hosting virtual, hands-on, instructor-led Rocket MVIS workshops.

Rocket MVIS empowers teams to leverage modern languages and frameworks to access MultiValue data and business logic, allowing enterprises to join and thrive in the API economy and the cloud.

“We created these free hands-on workshops for customers to allow them to get familiar with the product, RESTful services, and APIs,” said Hernando Borda, MV senior product manager at Rocket. “People seem to be really excited.”

Starting with Creating a RESTful Data Resource in MVIS, beginners don’t need to have prior experience with MVIS or REST to participate. They will receive a free, ready-to-use environment provisioned in the Google cloud, with everything needed to complete the lab exercises.

The first in a series, Rocket plans to offer another workshop, Advanced Configuration of RESTful MV Services during the fourth quarter.

“This is the first of its kind and we hope this will be one of many,” Borda said. “We’d like to also extend this to many other key products in the MultiValue platform space.”

In anticipation of these sessions, Rocket polled its community to understand which platforms and technologies they would like to see. Responses ranged from MVIS education to more information about new products, Borda said.

“A few years ago we did something similar with our Python integration but it was pre-pandemic so it was face to face with our customers,” said Kathy Larson, product marketing manager, database and connectivity, Rocket. “We’re trying to adapt this model to still be instructor-led and get our customers hands on with the product while doing it virtually.”

The response so far has been encouraging, with the company looking to add more sessions as time goes on since attendance is limited.

“It’s a good opportunity for us to showcase the MV product line on the cloud,” said Borda. “We’re with our MV accredited cloud partners.”

Sessions begin at the following times:

  • Sept 22, 2021 9:00 a.m. New York / 2:00 p.m. London / 3:00 p.m. Pretoria (FULL)
  • Sept 22, 2021 11:00 a.m. Denver / 1:00 p.m. New York (FULL)
