Rocket U2 has announced the availability of wIntegrate v6.2.0, which offers new functionality, implementing Secure Shell (SSH) as an alternative to Telnet on UNIX- based systems. wIntegrate is a terminal emulation and host-based application enhancement tool for UniData, UniVerse (U2), and other MultiValue databases.
According to Susie Siegesmund, vice president and general manager, U2 Brand, Rocket Software, SSH data encryption provides confidentiality and integrity over insecure networks and is a valuable tool in meeting corporate governance and compliance standards. This release also provides automated conversion from green screen to GUI, and includes sample before-and-after code and data files showing how a parameter-based green-screen application can be automatically converted to a true GUI application. The resulting GUI forms can then be extended to take advantage of modern PC features such as third-party ActiveX controls, Office integration, or even the Java thin client.
Rocket U2 has also released SB/XA (SystemBuilder Extensible Architecture) v6.0.3, adds Siegesmund. SB/XA is a Rapid Application Development (RAD) and deployment toolset that enables users to quickly design U2 data server structures and business logic processes to create robust applications and deploy them through multiple user Interfaces. SB/XA v6.0.3 includes additional updates for cross-domain certification and derived field display, as well as updated Rocket branded documentation. It will be available as a free Personal Edition for customers to download and try with the U2 Database Personal Editions, which are also free, Siegesmund notes.
U2 University 2010 registration is now open at u2u.rocketsoftware, and additional attendees from the same company will receive a discount.
