SAP has expanded its certified solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS) with the announcement of the SAP Business One application that works with and is powered by the SAP HANA platform. SAP Business One, version for SAP HANA, running on AWS combines the flexibility of the cloud with powerful in-memory technology from SAP and helps companies of all sizes streamline their overall business execution through accessible, easy-to-use, real-time data that provide clear insights.
The solution enables SMEs or subsidiaries of large companies to make data-driven decisions at any time and from anywhere, managing critical business processes, such as sales, finance, accounting and inventory. According to SAP, this AWS pay-as-you go, subscription-based model will help reduce total cost of ownership for the solution. Customers will be able to use their existing SAP software licenses on AWS, with no additional SAP license fees required, or license SAP applications to run on AWS from an authorized reseller of SAP Business One.
“We have seen a dramatic acceleration of customers running their mission-critical SAP software on the AWS Cloud,” said Peter Mauel, global alliance leader, Amazon Web Services, Inc. “The added ability to now run SAP Business One, version for SAP HANA, on AWS allows these customers to garner the same benefits that our existing common customers already realize. Namely, how the running of key SAP enterprise solutions, in production on the AWS cloud, helps drive business agility and innovation into business and can reduce the total cost of ownership.”
In addition, SAP partners using AWS have access to the developer edition of SAP Business One, version for SAP HANA. This provides an easy way for SAP users to begin development and porting of add-on solutions and other application extensions for the powered by SAP HANA version of SAP Business One.
