SAP Improves Access to its Partner Program

SAP is overhauling its PartnerEdge program, providing a new simplified way to partner with SAP for bigger opportunities.

The extensive update streamlines the framework of partner levels to meet the needs of evolving partner business models, offers a unified reward structure that gives partners credit for their total SAP business, and introduces eContracts that will reduce paperwork and speed processing.

The new partner levels will now include four different engagement types: Build, Sell, Service, and Run, giving enterprises the option to select their engagement type depending on their market activity.

Along with new partner levels, SAP revamped its partner designation system to include Silver, Gold, and Platinum replacing Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Platinum is available by invitation only and generally open to global value-added resellers among other strategic partner types.

Within the designation system is the new Open Ecosystem specialized layer, enabling prospective partners to operate under a “PartnerEdge-lite” model without any financial commitment.

This special designation adds onto last year’s introduction of Open Ecosystem basic, which provided potential partners with limited access to the company’s partner portal, according to the announcement.

The trial program is open to those looking to work with SAP for the first time as well as existing partners who want to expand their businesses with the company. All enablement and training will carry over to the full program if a partner decides to commit to PartnerEdge.

The last enhancement focuses on reducing paper work and speeding up processing by offering eContracts.
