SAP is making huge announcements that introduce a new HANA platform and boost SAP’s analytical capabilities for its Business Objects solution.

SAP HANA 2 includes and extends the proven technology from SAP’s breakthrough in-memory computing platform to provide a new foundation for digital transformation.

New features include database management that allows IT organizations to provide business continuity with enhanced high availability, security, workload management, and administration enhancements; data management enhancements to enterprise modeling, data integration, data quality, and tiered storage; analytical intelligence with insight into applications with enhanced analytical processing engines for text, spatial, graph, and streaming data; and application development  with enhanced functions for application servers, development tools, and languages.

“We want to provide customers with greater flexibility to use the hardware they already have,” said Marie Goodell, Vice President and Head of SAP HANA Platform Marketing.

In addition to the SAP HANA 2 news, the company is expanding its analytics capabilities for its Business Objects portfolio.

The SAP BusinessObjects Cloud solution is now available for purchase with a credit card in 34 countries from SAPStore.com.

New enhancements include data wrangling features that take advantage of embedded machine learning to provide data profiling, error detection and recommended visualizations. Live connectivity to SAP S/4HANA is available with plans for live connectivity to the SAP Business Warehouse application in the near future.

The SAP Digital Boardroom also comes with new benefits including mobile meeting collaboration, allowing remote participants to collaborate in real time for better decision making; prebuilt industry content and applications created by SAP and SAP partners for industries such as consumer products; chemicals; engineering, construction and operations; and public sector, as well as for HR, finance and marketing departments.

“There’s continued enhancements to data access and all the cloud applications,” said Nic Smith, Global VP of Product Marketing for Cloud Analytics at SAP. “We’re providing deeper and better data acquisitions to those cloud sources with Business Objects Cloud which is exciting for cloud customers.”
