Sepaton, Inc., a backup and recovery provider, has released the S2100-ES3 series 2925 purpose-built backup appliance (PBBA) with version 7.0 software. Featuring new processing nodes and enhanced multiprotocol network connectivity options, the enterprise-class data protection platform nearly doubles its data ingest performance up to 80 TB/hour. New high performance compression cards provide compression and encryption of data at rest in a unified pipeline without compromising performance.
“We’re addressing some of the biggest challenges facing large, data-intensive organizations: exponential data growth, increasing complexity in the data center, managing risk, and preventing data loss,” Amy Lipton, Sepaton’s senior vice president of marketing, tells 5 Minute Briefing. Septaon’s new encryption of data at rest capability integrates with industry standard interoperability protocols for encryption key mangers to simplify encryption key management and reduce operational costs.
Sepaton’s S2100-ES3 series 2925 PBBA with version 7.0 software features HP DL380p Gen 8 based nodes, Intel Xeon E5-2690, 8-core dual-CPU 2.90GHz, and 128 GB RAM DDR3 memory. It delivers high performance, industry-leading encryption, deduplication and replication, and is built for large enterprise data volumes with high performance Exar 1845 compression cards. The new nodes feature four 8Gb Fibre Channel (FC) connections, two 8GB FC connections to storage, two 10Gb Ethernet, and four 1GB Ethernet connections for faster ingest performance and multiprotocol support. The solution features encryption of data at rest with no backup performance penalty regardless of data type or change rate, integrates with all OASIS KMIP compliant EKMs, and is currently qualified with RSA and Thales, with more in process.
Sepaton S2100-ES3 with version 7.0 software is available now. List pricing starts at $355,000, with the encryption option licensed separately. For more information visit www.sepaton.com.
