Strategies for Combining Structured and Unstructured Data at Data Summit 2016

There are many ways to combine structured with unstructured data explained Jana Mikovska, senior consultant as Raytion, and Sebastian Klatt, vice president of business development at Raytion.

Their presentation at Data Summit 2016 focused on approaches and advantages of combining the two to uncover knowledge buried in unstructured information.

“Enterprise search helps users find and understand information, structured and unstructured content,” Mikovska said.

By leveraging enterprise search, users can tap into relevancy within data, processes text and unstructured information, perform content extraction and linguistic analysis, extract entities to generate structured data, and handle security.

Companies can utilize search based applications which can empower business critical apps with search technology, according to Mikovska and Klatt.

Data Exploration can further enhance enterprise search by allowing users to gain insights from advanced metadata, enhance relevancy by analysis, and help users find new insights by using machine learning.
