TIBCO Spotfire and Composite Join Forces to Overcome Challenges in Big Data Analytics

TIBCO Software and Composite Software have teamed up to provide a complete analytic application stack. With the combination of the TIBCO Spotfire Analytics Platform and the Composite Data Virtualization Platform, the companies say, businesses will be able to get an analytic solution in production much faster than with alternatives, and allow them to quickly adapt as data sources and business needs change.

According to the companies, this partnership addresses a key challenge for business intelligence users today: how to develop BI systems that have an agility level that matches the speed at which the business evolves. The combination of Spotfire and Composite, they say, brings to market an agile data analytics solution that enables users to access, understand, and take advantage of information that's crucial to their business decisions. To provide a more complete picture of their data, more quickly and with less complexity, Composite enables businesses to virtually integrate data from multiple sources, without the cost and overhead of physical data consolidation. Along with the powerful, yet easy-to-use analytics of TIBCO Spotfire, businesses gain value from their data with the agility they need in a data analytics solution.

"Many of our customers require a unified view of data from a variety of databases so they can understand what's driving revenue, analyze their customers' success and find ways to reduce churn," said Robert Eve, EVP Marketing, Composite Software. "To do this, they combine lead-to-revenue information from Salesforce.com, website traffic from a big data source like Cloudera, lifetime customer value from an enterprise data warehouse like Teradata, and invoice and shipment history from SAP and then use TIBCO Spotfire to analyze this wealth of customer data."

The combined solution set provides high performance analytic data processing distributed across data sources including 30 analytic data warehouses, data bases, No-SQL sources, web services and applications such as Apache and Cloudera distributions of Hadoop, Greenplum, IBM DB2 and Netezza, Sybase IQ, Teradata, and Vertica; centralized control of data and metadata; quick iterations and flexibility; as well as rich analysis and visualization.
