Tarsal Secures $6M for Flexible, Seamless, Modern Data Security

Tarsal, the security data movement company, is announcing the close of its recent seed funding round—led by Harpoon Ventures and Mango Capital with participation from YCombinator, Abstract Ventures, and Backend Capital—having raised $6 million. With a focus on the security data lake movement, Tarsal empowers security teams to modernize data management with performance and cost-effectiveness at the center.

Tarsal is a security data movement and quality platform that targets security teams’ growing data burdens. Between high volumes and diverse data sources, security teams are left with failing legacy tools that are unable to accommodate the security needs of complex data infrastructures, according to the company.

To combat this phenomenon, Tarsal offers a one-click ETL solution that allows analysts and engineers to ingest, normalize, and analyze data in the platform of their choice with ease. Tarsal supports a variety of data, including SaaS audit logs, cloud infrastructure logs, identity application logs, and more.

“Because every data source gives you data in different formats, it’s very hard to correlate what is happening between different sources and systems,” said Sunny Reikhi, CEO of Tarsal. “We are solving this problem for security teams by making it easy for customers to get their security data because it comes out in the same format, no matter the source.”

With Tarsal, security teams can send data to its most appropriate destination, paired with total visibility and seamless integration with existing systems. This offers security teams the flexibility and frictionless analytics needed to modernize an organization.

“With Tarsal, security analysts and engineers no longer need to make tradeoffs. Our platform provides the ability to store all data, so you have what you need, where you need it, when you need it,” said Reikhi. “Ultimately, we want Tarsal to be the leading enterprise solution for any security team looking to modernize their data stack. Every product release and future iteration of Tarsal will focus on pioneering the modern security data stack.”

The latest funding will enable Tarsal to accelerate the growth of their technology and team, as well as fuel the adoption of their solution. The seed round will also empower the company to prioritize research and development, as well as its go-to-market strategy.
