UiPath Debuts Expansive Updates for Developer-Centered Automations

UiPath, the enterprise automation software company, is announcing a variety of new features for its Business Automation Platform that are designed to enhance developer productivity in the realm of building and testing automations. Debuted at UiPath DevCon 2024—an event that gathers AI and automation developers, architects, engineers, testers, and product managers with a focus on innovation and collaboration—UiPath’s latest releases continue to empower developers on their automation journeys.

“With the UiPath developer community in excess of 2 million, and developers and learners across 43 countries, the innovations we provide this community are absolutely essential in the AI and automation era,” said Daniel Dines, co-founder and chief innovation officer at UiPath. “To build modern automations, it is not only about driving the UI. Developers also need API integrations, data, and AI solutions. We are making it possible for developers to access all these constructs in one integrated platform.”

The first of UiPath’s announcements, the UiPath Autopilot for Test Suite, offers a collection of advanced AI features that enhance testing productivity throughout the entire testing lifecycle. UiPath Autopilot for Test Suite delivers:

  • AI-powered quality checks that analyze requirements for tools and documents such as Jira, Azure DevOps, and process design documents (PDDs)
  • AI-powered test design for creating guided tests with instructions from developer requirements and supporting docs
  • AI-powered test automation which easily converts any text into automated tests in UiPath Studio Desktop
  • AI-powered test insights that offer real-time insights into test case portfolios

UiPath further expanded its generative AI (GenAI) connectors that accelerate GenAI implementation for automation use cases. With connectors for a myriad of industry-leading LLM providers—including OpenAI, Amazon SageMaker, Amazon Bedrock, and more—UiPath allows developers to easily incorporate GenAI into various automation processes.

“Developers remain at the center of our innovation efforts. Our quest to reimagine DevOps for automation developers with AI led us to the creation of UiPath Autopilot,” said Munil Shah, chief technology officer, UiPath Automation Cloud. “We are infusing generative AI across all our products. We believe when AI is combined with automation, magic happens. It’s like combining an intelligent brain with highly capable body to carry out powerful tasks.”

UiPath also unveiled the UiPath Automation Marketplace, a marketplace that empowers developers to get a head start on their automation journeys. With thousands of building blocks and templates, as well as high impact use cases via Solution Accelerators, developers are equipped with everything they need to get their automations started, according to UiPath.

Developer capabilities in Connector Builder see an expansion in UiPath’s release as well, where developers can more easily generate customized API integrations. This is further accompanied by new activity visualization design and improved support for events via a low code UX.
