At VMworld 2013 Europe, VMware announced new capabilities and enhancements across its portfolio of cloud management solutions to simplify and automate management of IT services for multiple clouds and platforms.

According to Christian Paulus, director of product marketing for Cloud Automation at VMware, with these announcements VMware wants to send the message that it has a cloud management offering that is purpose-built for the cloud which makes it different from many of the other cloud vendors which are built for more traditional environments. “We differ very much in the value we can bring in terms of faster deployment and administration. We want to be the best place for vSphere environments but we also place a significant emphasis on supporting heterogeneous environments.”

New product releases include vCloud Automation Center 6.0, vCenter Operations Management Suite 5.8, IT Business Management Suite, and  vCenter Log Insight 1.5.

In addition, VMware is updating the automation and management capabilities of VMware vCloudSuite 5.5, introduced on August 26, 2013.
