YugabyteDB Managed Brings Highly Efficient and Available Database Operations to Microsoft Azure


Yugabyte, the enterprise distributed SQL database company, is unveiling the public availability of YugabyteDB Managed on Microsoft Azure, enabling the deployment of YugabyteDB as a fully managed Database-as-a-Service on all three major public cloud vendors—AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Azure.

YugabyteDB—a highly available distributed database that retains the power and familiarity of PostgreSQL—offers a distributed cloud native architecture with native resilience, flexible geo-distribution, and seamless scalability for global applications, according to the company. It ensures uninterrupted availability and reliability of apps, reducing downtime risks for business-critical processes.

When consuming YugabyteDB as a fully managed Database-as-a-Service, enterprises can spend more energy on building innovative applications supported by Yugabyte’s ability to deliver efficient and highly available database operations.

With its newfound availability on Microsoft Azure, YugabyteDB brings its effortless scalability, robust SLA, and global availability to Azure clusters and regions. Deployment of YugabyteDB Managed clusters in Azure is simple, according to the vendor; users can either utilize YugabyteDB Managed’s web interface, automate with the Command Line Interface (YBM CLI), or Terraform.

YugabyteDB Managed can be seamlessly integrated with Azure Private Link, generating secure private network connectivity between Azure Virtual Networks and YugabyteDB clusters that further ensure greater data privacy and compliance.

Clusters are highly resilient, available, and fault tolerant; users can deploy single-region, multi-zone clusters easily with YugabyteDB Managed on Azure. Additionally, users can schedule backups on YugabyteDB Managed clusters on Azure, improving both reliability and disaster recovery.
