Zaloni Makes Data Lake Platform Announcement at Strata + Hadoop World 2016

Zaloni, the data lake company, unveiled new platform updates at Strata + Hadoop World 2016 including new enhancements to Bedrock Data Lake Management Platform and its Mica self-service data preparation solution.

Bedrock helps businesses govern and manage data across the enterprise, and Bedrock 4.2 adds new capabilities around data privacy, security, and data lifecycle management.

Key new functional features in Bedrock 4.2 that further deliver on the promise of a data lake include data governance, data lifecycle management (DLM), project and role-based data lake architectures, data ingestion, streaming data, support for PySpark, and more.

Additionally the company is releasing Mica version 1.2, Zaloni’s self-service data preparation software for discovery, curation and governance of data in the data lake.

Mica 1.2 builds on the solution’s user-friendly interface and integration with Zaloni’s Bedrock Data Lake Management Platform for enhanced functionality.

New features include sandbox provisioning, non-Hadoop connectors, zones, SSO login, joins workspace sharing, and a new search functionality and open data catalog.

“The key capabilities we call out are the data catalog itself as well as self-service data preparation capabilities,” said Kelly Hopkins Schupp, vice president of marketing at Zaloni. “Mica can take transformations that the business might be doing in real-time and automate that back into Bedrock.”
