erwin Acquires UK-Based SaaS Enterprise Architecture Provider Corso

erwin Inc. has acquired UK-based Corso Ltd, a  provider of enterprise architecture solutions. erwin has also  announced general availability of erwin CloudCore, an integrated cloud bundle consisting of erwin Data Modeler and Corso Agile EA.

According to erwin, with CloudCore, a cloud-delivered, integrated modeling and architecture bundle, enterprise architecture and data professionals can use a single solution to ensure core consistency in systems infrastructure, governance of data and systems, and simplified management of information and technology across the enterprise.

With the acquisition, Martin Owen, former CEO of Corso, has joined erwin as VP, product management.

“erwin’s acquisition of Corso brings data and IT governance together in one solution that can be delivered in cloud or on-prem,” said Adam Famularo, CEO of erwin Inc. This combination will give enterprises better visibility, streamlined information management and higher quality results from their big data and IT infrastructure initiatives, he noted. And, with a single point of purchase and support, the combination makes it easier for enterprises to buy, deploy and maintain these foundational IT resource applications.

In addition to the new CloudCore offering, Famularo said, the Corso team provides erwin with deep industry expertise in a UK operation, SaaS infrastructure capabilities, and a fresh user interface approach, which will benefit the 50,000 data professionals already using erwin Data Modeler.

“Our enterprise customers need a complete data and IT management solution that helps them address five key areas with their data and IT planning and infrastructure activities: discovery, quality, governance, architecture, and modeling,” said Famularo.

“When we established erwin as an independent company just 6 short months ago, we made a commitment to our customers and to the market that we would expand our capabilities beyond data modeling and into data management. And we are doing just that.”
