The vendor announced that it is spinning off its Watson supercomputer team into a new organization, the Watson Group, dedicated to boosting artificial intelligence-based solutions.

IBM also said it is investing more than $1 billion in the Watson Group. In addition, IBM announced that it was making major investments in cloud data centers, to the tune of $1.2 billion, which includes opening 15 new cloud data centers.
