Startups to Watch in 2020


Cutting-edge startups are constantly emerging to address new challenges and problems in ways never thought possible. Many of these young, innovative companies have fresh approaches that tap into blockchain, quantum computing, advanced analytics, AI, DevOps methodologies, containerization, and data security advancements. To shine a spotlight on some of the ways innovation in IT is being reflected today, here, DBTA presents 28 companies we think are worth watching in 2020.

Alegion: Provides a platform that blends human and machine intelligence for accurate labeled data that can be used to train or validate a customer’s machine learning models because human judgment alone is not a viable mechanism for labeling and scoring.   
 
Anyscale: Founded by the creators of the open source project Ray—Robert Nishihara, Philipp Moritz, and Ion Stoica—along with University of California, Berkeley professor Michael I. Bamboo Systems: A provider of transformative ARM server architecture that is designed to power the next generation of sustainable data centers.

BigID: A provider of data privacy and protection software that uses advanced machine learning and identity intelligence to help enterprises better protect their customer and employee data at petabyte scale.

Circonus: Provider of a machine data intelligence platform capable of handling billions of metric streams in real time to drive unprecedented business insight and value. 

Complyify: A company built from the ground up to be an intuitive cybersecurity GRC platform for end user organizations, service providers, and assessors that helps with the building of a top-down culture of accountability for cyber risk while tracking toward compliance with data privacy and security regulations.

Diamanti: Developer of a bare-metal hyperconverged platform for Kubernetes and containers that provides an out-of-the-box solution, allowing organizations to focus on deploying cloud-native applications across on-premise and hybrid cloud infrastructure

Dgraph Labs: A company whose cloud-native database executes equally well on graph-style joins and traversals and SQL-style selects, providing a scalable general-purpose graph database.

Fractal: An AI and analytics company whose product businesses include Qure.ai to assist radiologists in making better diagnostic decisions, Cuddle.ai to assist CEOs and senior executives make better tactical and strategic decisions, Theremin.ai to improve investment decisions, and Eugenie.ai to find anomalies in high-velocity data.

Hailo: Developer of a proprietary processing architecture for deep learning on edge devices, with a strategic focus on the automotive market, as well as on deep learning applications in a wide range of additional markets including surveillance, smart home, IoT and industrial, robotics,  AR/VR platforms, and wearables.

JetStream Software: An innovator in cloud software development that gives managed service providers, cloud service providers, and Fortune 500 enterprise clouds a better way to support workload migration and business continuity across multi-cloud and multi-data center infrastructures.
