Cisco and a group of eight leading companies including Accenture, Eightfold, Google, IBM, Indeed, Intel, Microsoft, and SAP, as well as six advisors are launching the AI-Enabled Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Workforce Consortium—focused on upskilling and reskilling roles most likely to be impacted by AI.

LightEdge, a leading provider of secure cloud and colocation, is acquiring Connectria, a provider of multi-cloud infrastructure and managed hosting solutions, adding six data center locations to LightEdge's existing footprint of 12 highly interconnected facilities across eight U.S. markets.

Linux Professional Institute (LPI) is launching Open Source Essentials, a certificate and education program targeting the fundamental knowledge open source professionals should have. The learning objectives are designed to cover all major domains that affect Open Source. They include software fundamentals, open source software licenses, open content licenses, open source business models, and project management as well as collaboration and communication.

Microsoft and OpenAI are working on plans for a data center project that could cost as much as $100 billion, along with including an artificial intelligence supercomputer called "Stargate" set to launch in 2028, The Information reported. The report said that Microsoft would likely finance the project, which is expected to be 100 times more costly than some of the biggest existing data centers.
