DC BLOX, a provider of data centers across the Southeast, has announced the expansion of its Birmingham, AL and Greenville, SC data centers. The rapid growth in two of DC BLOX's most recent markets reflects strong local demand for core data center and connectivity infrastructure. The Greenville facility is adding its second data hall since announcing its official opening in January of 2022, while Birmingham will deploy DC BLOX's newest design to accommodate the need for High-Performance Compute (HPC) applications in its market.

The global data center cooling market forecast by investment is expected to grow at a CAGR of 5.64% during the period 2022-2027, according to a new report that has been added to ResearchAndMarkets.com's offering. The report reveals that the market will witness "intense competition" across the globe as the construction of data centers grows, and data center operators are constantly looking out for energy-efficient and eco-friendly cooling systems.

Google is unveiling a new $750 million data center in Nebraska, on the way to fulfilling its promise of spending $9.5 billion on new Google data centers and offices in 2022. The massive new Google campus in Omaha will consist of four buildings totaling more than 1.4 million square feet as the demand for Google Cloud services and infrastructure rises.

IBM has announced IBM Impact, a new framework for the company's environmental, social, and governance (ESG) work that reflects how the company aspires to create a more sustainable, equitable, and ethical future. As detailed in the 2021 ESG report issued today, IBM Impact comprises three pillars: Environmental Impact, Equitable Impact, and Ethical Impact. These values have been embedded in IBM's DNA as a company and have driven its work for its employees, stakeholders, and the world over the past century. 

As part of its efforts to enable hands-on learning experiences with Linux, open source, and mainframes, the Open Mainframe Project has announced the launch of the 2022 Summer Mentorships, which kick off in June and go through August.
