Oracle has announced the availability of Oracle Customer Hub 8.1, the latest version of its master data management solution, which enables organizations to consolidate customer data from disparate systems, cleanse, master, govern and share this information throughout the enterprise.

COLLABORATE 09, the annual Oracle users conference sponsored by the Independent Oracle Users Group, the Oracle Applications Users Group and the Quest International Users Group, wrapped up successfully in Orlando, Fla. earlier this month. "I think COLLABORATE was a great success," Ian Abramson, president of the IOUG, tells 5 Minute Briefing, adding that it emphasized the unique value of a live in-person event.

At the recent COLLABORATE 09 conference, Oracle introduced Oracle Business Intelligence (BI) Applications Release 7.9.6, prebuilt solutions for Oracle and non-Oracle applications that enable organizations to make informed, actionable decisions and drive toward optimized performance across the enterprise.

Oracle Corporation announced that it has agreed to acquire Virtual Iron Software, Inc. (Virtual Iron), a provider of server virtualization management software that enables dynamic resource and capacity management in virtualized data centers.
