Hortonworks Upgrades its Global Professional Services Program

Hortonworks, Inc. is enhancing its Global Professional Services (GPS) program to support and enable Hortonworks Connected Data Platforms customers.

The new and updated GPS program gives customers from any industry the advanced services needed to get started with a big data project and increase time to value.

"As the big data market has grown and matured, our customers' needs have expanded beyond technical implementations into business driven outcomes," said Amir Siddiqi, vice president of global professional services at Hortonworks. "We are extending our Global Professional Services portfolio to compliment our Partnerworks program and address the needs of all customers—from the foundational level to the transformative initiatives driven by our clients' data needs."

Updated features introduce three different levels of the platform, the Foundation Level, Accelerator Level, and Advanced Level.

The Foundation Level targets clients looking to cultivate a standard maturity level where technology is the key focus and the environment has one or two use case scenarios. This level consists of the new Quick Start service for Hortonworks DataFlow (HDF), in addition to ETL Onboard and Hortonworks Data Platform (HDP) services.

The Accelerator Level is focused on customers with a strategic vision built on Hortonworks Connected Data Platforms looking to proliferate consistency across their environment with specific emphases on migrations, data platform architecture / strategy and data platform optimization in addition to managed services.

And the Advanced Level is designed for customers who are undergoing a transformational change within their environment and driving to a corporate strategic initiative that is derived by business outcomes. These services consist of the Data and Analytics Center of Excellence and data science advisory services.

Additionally, the update introduces new traiing programs including HDP Essentials and Advanced Level training tailored for Apache Spark and Python developers.
