Stardog Improves Platform with New Storage Engine

Stardog, a provider of Enterprise Knowledge Graph technology, is releasing Stardog 7, including a new storage engine that is dramatically faster, providing between 10x and 20x improvement for write performance.

Write performance has become increasingly important as industries like healthcare and manufacturing look to connect fast-moving IoT data such as streaming sensors and wearable devices.

Stardog’s new storage engine can also handle multiple cluster writes - improving horizontal scalability across an enterprise.

In addition to the storage improvements, Stardog continues to cement its position as the most powerful virtualization capability in the graph market.

The latest release includes virtual transparency, which automatically determines the location of virtualized data sources needed to answer queries.

This means that users will no longer have to encode location information in the query nor adjust those queries as data locations change.

Stardog makes data location irrelevant and decreases the burden on IT to keep up with changing data locations.

“We look forward to introducing Stardog 7 to the market,” said Kendall Clark, CTO of Stardog. “Not only is Stardog 7 significantly faster, but it supports production applications with multiple users with near real-time results, while maintaining multiple points of view on an organization’s data to facilitate seamless collaboration. Even when a database is being updated with very large transactions that might run for hours, smaller transactions will not be blocked and will be completed in milliseconds. Stardog 7 is a data management game changer.”
