Cleveland Clinic and IBM officially unveiled the first deployment of an onsite private sector IBM-managed quantum computer in the United States, dedicated to healthcare research with an aim to help Cleveland Clinic accelerate biomedical discoveries. Quantum computing is a rapidly emerging technology that harnesses the laws of quantum mechanics to solve problems that today's most powerful supercomputers cannot practically solve. The ability to tap into these new computational spaces could help researchers identify new medicines and treatments more quickly, according to IBM.

Keepit, a leader in cloud data protection and management, announced that all of its data centers located in the Americas and EMEA are now powered by 100% renewable energy. Keepit operates 10 data centers across the U.S., Canada, Germany, the U.K., and Denmark. The data centers are powered by energy sources that fall under local renewable energy guarantee schemes: GoOs (Guarantees of Origins) in the EU, REGOs (Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin) in the U.K., and RECs (Renewable Energy Certificates) in the U.S. and Canada.

LiquidStack, a provider of liquid immersion cooling for data centers, announced it has received an investment from Trane Technologies, a global climate innovator. The investment will help further support the adoption of LiquidStack's solutions and significantly reduce data center carbon footprint, water consumption, e-waste, and environmental impact, while creating additional value for both Trane and LiquidStack customers.

T-Systems will now have the ability to provide its customers with cloud access to IBM's quantum systems, including multiple quantum computers powered by the 127-qubit IBM Eagle processor. The Deutsche Telekom IT subsidiary will embark on the path to providing access to this technology, as well as insights on how it can be applicable to its customers' businesses. In addition, T-Systems will offer dedicated quantum know-how and training.
