Commvault has announced the launch of NetApp Scale-out Data Protection (SDP) to offer expanded rapid recovery support for critical data across NetApp's hybrid-enabled storage systems. The mainframe is continuing to grow in importance—so much so that the deployment frequency of new mainframe application features is set to surpass that of non-mainframe application features in 2020, according to a new global survey. "Given the increasingly crucial role the mainframe plays in innovation, continuously improving the quality, velocity, and efficiency of software development and delivery on the platform should no longer be a wishful IT aspiration—it's an urgent strategic imperative," said Chris O'Malley, CEO, Compuware.
