Hudi (Hadoop Upserts Deletes and Incrementals) is a storage abstraction library that improves data ingestion. Nishith Agarwal, engineering manager, Uber, explained what Hudi offers and why it is needed during his Data Summit Connect Fall 2020 session titled, "Building Large-Scale, Transactional Data Lakes using Apache Hudi."

At Data Summit Connect Fall 2020, Bruno Kurtic, founding vice president, strategy & solutions, Sumo Logic, presented a keynote titled "Redefining Business Intelligence for Real-Time Businesses." Sumo Logic provides best-in-class cloud monitoring, log management, cloud SIEM tools, and real-time insights for web and SaaS-based apps. "Continuous intelligence is business intelligence redefined," said Kurtic.

At Data Summit Connect Fall 2020, John O'Brien, principal advisor and CEO, Radiant Advisors, provided guidance about the agile methodology and templates that project delivery teams can follow to build modern data infrastructures (on-prem, hybrid, and multi-cloud). He was followed by Waqas Dhillon, product manager for machine learning, Vertica, whose presentation focused on best practices for scaling analytics workloads.

YottaDB, the database for transactional systems, is releasing production-grade Octo 1.0, a YottaDB plugin to query YottaDB application data using popular SQL tools. YottaDB excels for transactional systems, where data integrity and application robustness are paramount—applications that effect database state change to provide mission-critical functionality, such as electronic health record systems, core banking systems, library systems, and election systems.
