Application Security, Inc., a provider of database security, risk, and compliance solutions for the enterprise, has announced AppDetectivePro 6.0, featuring powerful user rights review capabilities. The AppDetectivePro solution consists of three distinct modules for database discovery, database vulnerability assessment, and user rights review, and the User Rights Review (URR) module is the key new feature of the version 6.0 product release.

DataSlide, which describes itself as "the massively parallel green storage company," has announced their embedded architecture and Partnership Network agreement with Oracle. Oracle's Berkeley Database embedded onto the DataSlide storage drive enables third-party developers the ability to implement next-generation business intelligence right onto the storage system. The Oracle partnership represents a significant step for DataSlide as the company moves toward productizing Hard Rectangular Drives HRD.

Emulex Corporation has announced that it is working closely with Oracle to provide converged network support and investment protection for end users who deploy Emulex LightPulse 10Gb/s fibre channel over Ethernet (FCoE) converged network adapters (CNAs) in Oracle Enterprise Linux and Oracle VM environments. Emulex's common LightPulse drivers supporting CNAs and Host Bus Adapters (HBAs) have been certified with Oracle Enterprise Linux 4.8.

Oracle has announced expanded capabilities for Oracle Identity Manager to help enterprises significantly improve compliance and reduce potential for fraud. The enhancements to Oracle Identity Manager, Oracle's user provisioning and identity administration solution, allow enterprises to enforce more granular segregation of duties (SoD) in enterprise applications, including the Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle's PeopleSoft Enterprise and SAP ERP applications.

Oracle WebLogic Server, a strategic component of Oracle Fusion Middleware, together with Oracle Enterprise Linux and Oracle Database 11g running on a Dell PowerEdge server, has set a world record dual-node result with the SPECjAppServer2004 industry standard benchmark. "With this, we currently hold the world record in all three SPECjAppServer2004 categories—single node, dual-node and multi-node," Mike Piech, senior director with Oracle Fusion Middleware, tells 5 Minute Briefing.
