The winner of the Apple iPad 2 drawn from the pool of 421 data managers and professionals who responded to the latest IOUG Data Warehousing survey has been announced. The winner is Steven Pierce, principal of Think Huddle in Annandale, Virginia (www.thinkhuddle.com).

Kalido, a provider of agile information management software, unveiled the latest release of the Kalido Information Engine, which helps organizations decrease the time for data mart migrations and consolidations. With this new release, customers will be able to import existing logical and physical models and taxonomies to build a more agile data warehouse. Enabling customers to take advantage of existing assets and investments "is going to dramatically reduce the time and the cost that it takes to bring together data marts into more of a data warehouse scenario," says John Evans, director of product marketing at Kalido.

Oracle will be holding cloud computing conferences throughout North America, and around the globe, to share practical strategies for moving to the cloud.

Oracle has announced three new JD Edwards EnterpriseOne mobile applications. The three new mobile applications - JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Mobile Requisition Self Service Approval, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Mobile Purchase Order Approval, and JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Mobile Sales Inquiry - are aimed at helping to improve productivity by delivering management solutions that can be accessed at any time or from anyplace.

The latest release of the Oracle TimesTen In-Memory Database is now shipping with performance and scalability improvements for real-time online transaction processing (OLTP) applications, and new functionality to support analytic applications with real-time in-memory data management. "With today's business moving faster than ever, organizations demand real-time access to information," said Marie-Anne Neimat, vice president, Development, Oracle.
