The role of the DBA is evolving faster than ever. Increasingly, DBAs are expected to do things faster and cheaper, regardless of the database platform. According to TechValidate research, as many as 80 percent of DBAs support at least two different database platforms, and more than 40 percent support three or more. And the trend toward diversification shows no sign of slowing; at least 30 percent of DBAs expect their company to add a new database platform over the next 12 months.
