Oracle announced today that it is acquiring NetSuite in a transaction valued at approximately $9.3 billion. The transaction is expected to close in 2016. In a statement, Zach Nelson, CEO of NetSuite, said that NetSuite will benefit from Oracle's global scale and reach to accelerate the availability of its cloud solutions.

Helping to address complex analysis problems, IBM has announced the general availability of IBM Graph, a Bluemix service that allows users to set up graph databases in the cloud. Ending months of months of speculation on who would acquire Yahoo's operating business, including search engine, email services, and web properties, Verizon Communications Inc. and Yahoo! Inc. have entered into a definitive agreement under which Verizon will acquire Yahoo for approximately $4.83 billion in cash, subject to customary closing adjustments. The deal is expected to close in Q1 of 2017.

Terms of the deal, which is expected to close in Workday's third fiscal quarter, were not disclosed.
