Databricks, a provider of unified data analytics, has announced that Azure Databricks is now certified for the HITRUST Common Security Framework (HITRUST CSF). With HITRUST, organizations can measure and benchmark compliance using a standardized compliance framework, assessment, and certification process. HITRUST offers three degrees of assurance and Azure Databricks has met all of the requirements for CSF certification for the highest degree of assurance. 

Hitachi Vantara, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd., has announced plans to acquire the business of privately held Waterline Data, Inc. Waterline Data's patented "fingerprinting" technology uses AI- and rule-based systems to automate the discovery, classification, and analysis of distributed and diverse data assets to accurately and efficiently tag large volumes of data based on common characteristics.
