IBM has closed on its acquisition of Turbonomic, Inc., an application resource management and network performance management software provider based in Boston. IBM said the acquisition complements its recent acquisition of Instana for application performance monitoring and observability, and the launch of IBM Cloud Pak for Watson AIOps to automate IT Operations using AI.

A year after it added partners to its financial services-ready cloud, IBM has announced that the platform is now backed by more than 100 ecosystem partners that have committed to help customers accelerate cloud adoption and digital transformation throughout the financial services industry. IBM Cloud for Financial Services is designed to help banks host mission-critical workloads while adhering to their security and compliance regulations.

The global mainframe market is projected to witness a substantial growth, growing at a CAGR of 3.2% during the forecast period from 2021 to 2029, according to a new report added to ResearchAndMarkets.com website. According to the  report, based on geography, North America led the overall mainframe market accounting for the largest market share in 2020 and the region is likely to remain foremost throughout the forecast period from 2021 to 2029.

Tone Software, a global provider of management and productivity solutions for IBM System Z mainframes, has announced that its complete line of z/OS Mainframe technologies has been tested and proven fully compatible with the JES3plus V1R0 spooling subsystem. The JES3plus software was made available through Tone's participation in the Phoenix Software International ISV Partner Program.

Veritas Technologies, a provider of enterprise data protection products, has updated its Enterprise Data Services Platform to extend ransomware protection to every part of the enterprise. Veritas' flagship NetBackup solution delivers ransomware protection for containerized environments, immutability for Amazon S3, and integrated anomaly detection. Further enhancements include the launch of the NetBackup Flex 5350 appliance, which offers data immutability, expands performance, and completes the upgraded Veritas family of ransomware-hardened data protection appliances.
