Unless you've been living under a rock, you've heard Microsoft has introduced the initial release of Windows 10. Windows 10 has been a widely anticipated release on the part of consumers and business alike, with Microsoft aiming to deploy Windows 10 on more than one billion devices within the next few years. Here are 10 technical and market reasons why Windows 10 will become Microsoft's biggest release ever.
AtScale is collaborating with Microsoft to add the AtScale Intelligence Platform to Azure HDInsight, an Apache Hadoop-based service in the cloud. By deploying AtScale on HDInsight, customers can connect any business intelligence (BI) tool to Hadoop in minutes, according to the vendor.
Embarcadero Technologies, a provider of software solutions for application and database development, has acquired Raize Components. Along with the acquisition, Embarcadero is introducing new releases of CodeSite and Konopka Signature VCL Controls, as Embarcadero add-on products for developers. "With the release of Windows 10 tomorrow, it's the perfect time for developers to be thinking about new and expanded Windows development as Microsoft brings Windows to more form factors and extends it with Bluetooth LE, IoT, and mobile support," said John "JT" Thomas, senior director of application development products at Embarcadero.
Culminating two years of investment, Logi Analytics is releasing a solution to give enterprises a comprehensive platform for self-service analytics.
Melissa Data, a provider of global contact data quality and address management solutions, is now offering new international de-duplication capabilities in its MatchUp tool, solving the challenge of duplicate customer data for businesses working with a worldwide customer base. MatchUp had previously offered capabilities for consolidating duplicate records for the United States and Canada, and with the addition functionality it will also handle data for Australia, Germany and the United Kingdom, with additional countries to follow.

MariaDB has released updates in the latest version of its enterprise platform that are designed to accelerate deployment of open source DBMS applications and improve reliability and security for DevOps. The MariaDB Enterprise Summer 2015 Release includes support for developer enablement and DevOps productivity tools such as Docker Containers, Chef Recipes and Cookbooks, adds the ability to launch email notifications and external scripts via MaxScale event triggers and hardened and curated MariaDB Enterprise server binaries.
