Cockroach Labs, the company behind CockroachDB, is receiving $86.6 million in series D funding to further grow investments in R&D to better support customers looking to move to the cloud. The funding round was co-led by Altimeter Capital and BOND with participation from Benchmark, GV, Index Ventures, Redpoint Ventures, Sequoia Capital, and Tiger Capital. This round brings Cockroach Labs' total funding to $195 million.

Dremio has announced the free availability of the Dremio AWS Edition, a self-service data lake engine highly optimized for Amazon Web Services (AWS) and available in AWS Marketplace. "Dremio brings interactive BI and data science to Amazon S3, and with our new AWS Edition we are dramatically lowering the cost per query and making data lake insights accessible to data consumers in organizations of any size," said Tomer Shiran, chief product officer, Dremio.

Humio is now part of the IBM Edge Application Manager Ecosystem, an initiative designed to help enterprises capture the opportunities of edge computing with a variety of solutions built on IBM's technology. Humio collects machine data from edge devices, gateways, and servers to monitor the health of the entire infrastructure, detect security incidences, and reveal insights into the customer experience.

HVR, an independent provider of real-time cloud data replication technology, is forming a strategic partnership with Talend, a leader in data integration and data integrity, enabling customers to integrate their data for a complete view of business operations and analytics.

New Relic, a cloud-based observability platform built to help customers create more perfect software, is introducing New Relic Edge with Infinite Tracing. The new offering is a fully managed, cloud-native, tail-based distributed tracing solution built to empower software engineering teams to rapidly diagnose issues and latency across complex environments.

Yellowbrick Data, providing a data warehouse for hybrid cloud, and Next Pathway Inc., the Automated Cloud Migration company, are collaborating to accelerate the migration of complex on-prem workloads to the Yellowbrick Data hybrid cloud data warehouse.
