RMAN (Recovery Manager), a backup and recovery tools is one of the fine products from Oracle. They have added few notable new features as a part of Oracle 11gR1/R2 which make this product more robust. Some of these new features are extensions of earlier ones and a few are introduced as net new. This presentation discusses the top five new RMAN features which should help Oracle customers to enhance their backup and recovery practice. These new RMAN features in Oracle 11gR1/R2 are:

2. Duplicate without connection to source database
3. Data Recovery Advisor
4. Automatic Block Repair (i.e., Auto-BMR with Active Data Guard Standby)
