The U.S. Department of Energy announced $47 million in awards-backed by an additional $70 million in private funding-to projects and studies that support new energy efficiency initiatives in the IT sector. IBM and HP will be recipients that will be exploring ways to increase the energy efficiency of software, power supply chain, and cooling.
