RDBMS THAT SPANS THE GLOBE: TRANSLATTICE ELASTIC DATABASE (TED)

An enterprise RDBMS that spans the globe is now a reality with the geographically distributed TransLattice Elastic DatabaseTM (TED). The nodes are placed wherever needed, without the distance limitations often associated with distributed systems. The system scales out easily and the data is spread across the nodes.

Unparalleled availability
With this approach, if a node goes down, the rest of the database cluster continues to operate. Most users are completely unaware of the problem, and the affected users can reconnect to another node as long as they have an Internet connection. Data redundancy ensures data remains available even if a failure occurs. Redundancy levels are set by policy; for instance, a minimum of four copies of data on at least two continents.

Control data location for compliance
TED nodes look like a single data server, so you don’t have to wrestle with synching data between federated systems. Data location is easily managed by policy; for example, you can specify that personally identifiable information must remain in Germany, or that sensitive data can never be placed in the Cloud.

Move data closer to the edge
With TED, nodes may be located near end users, either on-premise or in the Cloud, resulting in improved response time.

Standards-oriented
TED is based on PostgreSQL; SQL and ACID semantics are supported, and your existing developer skills can be leveraged.

Check out TED and see what it can do for you.
