A Letter from IOUG President, Andy Flower

Hello fellow Oracle technologists,

Annually, the IOUG (Independent Oracle User Group - for Database and Technology Professionals) reviews the strategic plan for the organization. For this year, one of the main focus areas is addressing Oracle's expansion and our community's interest in Exadata, Exalytics and Exalogic. As part of our ongoing efforts to support the needs of our community members, and to respond to what you want to learn more about, IOUG is launching ExaEverything 2012, a comprehensive, year-round program for Oracle Engineered Systems education and community-building. You will continue to see new and exciting elements of this program rolled out as we move through the year, including virtual and in-person training opportunities, online training curricula for Exadata 101, migration and management, and most importantly, the opportunity to engage with other users in technical discussions and best practices sharing.

To open this program, I'd like to welcome you to the first issue of IOUG's ExaBriefing, our dedicated Engineered Systems e-newsletter, published on a bi-monthly basis. Featuring interviews, news, technical content and insight into upcoming activities, this newsletter is meant to bring you the best user community content, and to help you find the right resources for your job.

I hope you'll find this newsletter to be a valuable and entertaining resource, and that you will choose to be actively involved in ExaEverything 2012.

Regards,

Andy Flower
IOUG President
