Kore Technologies Helps Rockland Community College Improve College Database

Kore Technologies, a provider of enterprise integration, business intelligence, and e-commerce web solutions for MultiValue and Microsoft SQL Server databases, has recently assisted Rockland Community College with improving its database technology.  Kore Technologies’ Kourier Integrator has helped improve Rockland Community College’s speed and accuracy when it comes to its database performance. Kourier Integrator is Kore’s flagship enterprise integration and data management suite with extract, transform, and load (ETL) and enterprise application integration capabilities (EAI).

Rockland Community College, a part of the State University of New York system, was previously running the Ellucian system to generate reports for analysis. Kourier now allows Rockland to transfer data to SQL databases to perform more efficient analytics using an Operation Data Store (ODS) from Kore. The ODS allows Rockland to produce student histories in less than a minute.

“Working with SQL is much easier for Rockland. They can write queries more easily in SQL when compared to MultiValue, and having their data in SQL allows for them to get to their data much faster,” explained Keith Lambert, vice president of marketing and business development at Kore Technologies. In addition, the ability to move the data to SQL Server is also important  to Rockland since it uses the  statistical analysis programs, Statistica and R, which are compatible with relational data but not compatible with MultiValue data.

Kore has made a push to be more involved in higher education recently in addition to continuing to work with  other industries, including manufacturing, government, and distribution, said Lambert. “Kourier really is a cross-industry tool that can work for many different companies."
