Hemoco Promotes Agentless Scanning of Distributed Networks

Hemoco, a networking solutions provider, announced a new tool for software and network inventory audits, intended to provide agent-free scanning of network clients for changes in hardware inventory and compliance of software with license policies, retrieving event logs and managing product license keys.

The Lansweeper 5.0 inventory monitoring tool is engineered to perform agent-free scanning of network clients and show what software products are installed on each system, detect new and updated hardware, and gather information on devices available through the network, such as printer or routers.

The data collected this way is composed into an exportable report. The built-in version compliance manager automatically tracks outdated products, determines which of them miss the latest patches or updates and alerts the admin accordingly, and integrates with Active Directory and Windows Eventlog.

The new toolset also includes Linux and MacOS hardware/software scan, improved OS and software license tracking, and an optimized internal database structure that the vendor says uses up to 70% less disk space.
