Informatica Announces Cloud Connector for Amazon Redshift

Data integration software vendor Informatica announced a partnership with Amazon Redshift to deliver a new cloud data integration solution for direct connectivity to the Amazon Web Service (AWS) cloud-based data warehouse service. Informatica seeks to make cloud-based analytics a viable and affordable option for small and large organizations alike.

Amazon Redshift is a petabyte-scale data warehouse service in the cloud that offers scalability and performance with low costs. “Our objective is to democratize access to data integration through the cloud, focusing on self service and ease of use,” Darren Cunningham, vice president of marketing at Informatica, tells 5 Minute Briefing. Organizations can quickly and reliably move data into Amazon Redshift both on-premise and from other cloud applications using the Informatica Cloud Connector for Amazon Redshift. This new capability will be provided on a subscription basis.

Informatica is also announcing new capabilities for data integration in the cloud including cloud data masking. “We’re helping companies automate the process of masking their data by bringing a cloud-based service that does that data masking for you in a self-service way,” Cunningham explains. Also being introduced are enterprise updates to cloud data quality, cloud MDM, and enhanced integration capabilities across on-premise, cloud and hybrid environments.

The Informatica Cloud Connector for Amazon Redshift is currently available in prerelease and will be generally available in the first half of 2013. For further information, visit www.informaticacloud.com/amazonredshift
